Welcome to Maoist Orange Cake. Each week one of our Divas posts a thoughtful (but not necessarily serious) essay on whatever calls forth her Voice or strikes her Fancy. We invite you to join us wherever the discussion leads.

Election Results Are In...

Molly's so happy!

Hillary won in Missouri!

Barack won in Kansas!

But wait....

Maybe not..,

Huckabee's winning in Missouri too!
WTF!

Somebody please write a biting political essay, and help us figure this out!

Funny how much thinking about Huckabee creates an expression similar to passing a big diaper-load...

Shado,
What an astute baby!
But hopefully there are a myriad of other more fascinating things to attract her attention.
I must say I was thinking of all you last night as Charlie Gibson kept mentioning Missouri!

Bribery with cute babies. You're doing it wrong.

Whoops! When I went to bed last night, they had called Mo. for Clinton and Huckabee. But what a difference a day makes...Obama and McCain won (But Huckabee got reeeally close!)

Gator, I've always heard people were bored with other folks' baby pix.

Shado, ordinarily, yes, other people's babies can be boring, but you've got access to an incredibly cute one. Plus, she's kinda like a mascot or something!

(sorry, did that go too far?)

It's only boring if you have to look right then and make immediate comments. On the web you can take them or leave them.

Wehn I mey Buzz Aldrin he burbled about his newest grandkid, though he didn't follow thorugh on the picture threat. I wouldn't have minded if he had.

Kat---no you didn't go too far. Did you know her initials are M.A.O.?

So we know what kind of birthday cake M.A.O. needs/

Gator's right. Babygirl will be getting some awesome b-day cake!

Other people's baby pictures are only boring when they haul out not one, not two, but THREE albums full!

I'm okay with a half dozen pictures or so, with witty commentary.

But I agree completely with Kat. YOUR baby is an incredibly cute and photogenic one. And I can't wait to read her memoirs in about 20 years! :)

I did a fun thing and voted for McCain on the Republican ticket (which I will not do during the election...I will support Hillary or Obama with no problems). It was really cool to see the woman's face when I said Republican, since I live in a fairly small town and everyone knows how liberal I am :) Anyway, I did not want Huckabee to win!
