ITMFA?

If nothing else, it will feed my revenge.---William Shakespeare

For those who are curious as to why W remains in office, despite his abysmally low approval ratings, scandal after scandal, and the ever increasing pile of evidence suggesting he is ready, willing and able to break the law to get what he wants, may I suggest this most excellent article from today's edition of Salon:

http://www.salon.com/opinion/kamiya/2007/05/22/impeachment/:

Seems payback is a mf after all...

Oh, and if you're looking for a good summer potboiler, may I suggest this:

It's a little unbelievable and a bit over the top, but what really sucks is it's true.

Never thought I'd say this, but for this one time, you go ,John Ashcroft; let your eagle soar!

It's a good article, Shado. Some of the points in it seem to parallel the thinking in Gore's newest book as well.

Still, I can't bring myself to say anything good about Ashcroft. He was willing to play dirty up to a certain point, and the fact that he did draw a line (unlike Gonzales, whom I cringe to admit is a Texan) doesn't make up for this earlier crapping on the law with the Patriot Act.

Impeach them all, I say. And, anybody who votes for the current funding bill, wherein Congress once again bends over to suck W's tiny member? -- I'm taking names and will do everything I can to support your political downfall. I'm writing and calling my representatives -- the info is at MoveOn, as well as other places -- and reminding them WHY they got elected last November: To stop this administration before it destroys America.

Believe me, Maggie, I am no fan of John Ashcroft. I had to suffer under his bootheel while he was governor of Mo. And because of that legacy, when he ran for the Senate, we all STILL voted for the dead guy (Mel Carnahan)...

Still, I found it interesting, that there was one place that the Bushies were willing to go that even Ashcroft was not---I have a feeling that perhaps because he thought he may be meeting his maker soon, it might be nice to do the right thing, for once.

I am completely with you regarding anyone in Congress who votes for this funding bill---why do these people think we put them in office in the first place?

Oh, FUNNY, Shado, I forgot that Ashcroft was defeated by dead man. Were you actually one of those who voted for Carnahan? A claim to fame if you are.

Yes I was, Maggie! And get this; I even had a Carnahan bumper sticker on my van (hey, I'd had it all summer too---he would've made a great senator)

As Peter Sagal of Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me said, "You know your nation is in trouble when the only thing standing between you and a lawless police state is John Ashcroft doped to the gills on Vicodin."

wow. the autocannibalism really is in full swing up in there, isn't it?

and no, i can't think of a single good thing to say about Ashcroft either.

still, sometimes, the enemy of my enemy is a good little source of schadenfreude.

Belledame222, welcome and damn I love your icon! Went to one o'yr websites (Fetch Me My Axe) portaled through your profile, and damn again! Check 'er out, kids. And what a righteous blogroll you got -- I like how you've organized it.

Here's my question: Did you know how to spell schadenfreude or did you have to look it up? Or cut and paste, like I just did?

I liked the rant about the classism of academic-based radical feminists but would like to see the qualifier about academia in there in the future. Not all us radicals are middle class or into deconstruction. Some of us were always out on the streets creating the messy, glorious lives that are now someone Ph.D. thesis. Which I know you know, I'm just sayin'.

replying very, very late, but: thanks for the welcome.

Schadenfreude I knew how to spell, but a lot of other words I used to know how to spell, I forget, lately. braincells beginning to die off I reckon...
